This show and the night before were benefit concerts for a whole bunch of cool organizations. If I remember correctly the tickets were 25 bucks which was really steep for my 20-year-old college student self, but definitely worth every penny! What a privilege to have been able to see so many Warfield shows!!
I had a tape of this show for years-- lord knows where it is now. The Scarlet/Fire is truly fantastic!
Really, the whole show is terrific.

I have never seen it mentioned, but this is the only Dead show that I know of post 1974 in which Jerry does The Tiger (you know, that crazy thing he does in the space from '72-'74). Right at the end of the space, Jerry does a little Tiger cub & then into The Wheel they go. Good stuff.

They (well, Bobby) hilariously blow the beginning of the Minglewood, but it's all smoke and dust from there. Don't be fooled by the setlist. This is a hot night at the Warfield!

this show is jazzy and fresh. estimated is totally grooving. great set list. would have been fun to see the boys this night.
How funky is Birdsong circa early 1982? What a great year.

this is a rippin show not sure why no one has posted anything here but let be the first to say sound is great, vibes are awesome and the whole show is really really good. what a great find i never even knew they played the warfield in '82, and this does not sound like any '82 i have ever heard - when they open with minglewood this is usually a good sign, if it goes into sugaree even better, all over now, another tip off.
check out bobby's 'scatting' (singing in harmony with the guitar) in the middle of estimated a la george benson thats the only time i have ever heard him do that. this estimated by the way is a monster.
for anyone that wants to nitpick abt the sound there is a certain amount of hiss the amps throw off no matter what - this is a solid tape and on metal to boot, not sure if you can even buy this anymore - welcome back old friend...

Try the MSC...
A hot show, no doubt. However, perhaps The Archive has made me a bit of a sound snob (thank you very much) but I just can't lsten to this recording (even w/ ear buds)...especially when you can get the SBD right here.
Man, I'm too young to have ever seen the band at the Warfield, but I saw many JGB shows there...must have been absolutely off the hook to see them electric at this amazing venue...especially when they were on like they are here. Listen to it...
